Scent Notes

Star Anise, Orange, Tarta de Santiago (Almond Cake), Delirium (Codeine) Accord, Road Dust, Spanish Lavender, Holy Incense, Sweat & Grime, Iberian Immortelle, Antiseptic, Infection, Eucalyptus, Espresso, Cold Cathedral Interiors, Bandages, Asphalt

Mood

Deeply reflective, validating, affirming, comforting, and soothing, with an emotional valence that ranges between finally receiving recognition that you’ve yearned for and deserved to having the sobering epiphany that it’s both the ups and downs of life that make it worth living because neither would exist without the other. Alternatively: it’s a perfume that feels like grace.

Wear Style

Unisex & nonlinear—perfect for anyone seeking a scent that evolves throughout its wear

Projection

Noticeable, but never overpowering—very well-suited for professional settings. Also works great for church. And romantic dinners. And concerts. And club nights. And basketball games. And grocery store runs. And counseling appointments. And we could keep going but we’ll stop.

“There's something about the quality of it that reminds me of vintage perfumes, but I know that it smells like nothing I've tried before. It's that there's not an overdose of ambroxan or musks in it, so you can wear lots of it for that blast of medicinal lavender, but it never overpowers or feels like it's too much.”

“I love this fragrance so much! It's the most interesting fougere i have smelled in such a long time. It's such a chameleon that keeps on giving. Some days, he is the most relaxing lavender and amber. Other days, he is the sharpest, skankiest animalic fougere. Definitely one of my top favourite discovery recently.”

“The description for this promises antiseptic and bandages and grime, and it does deliver on all of that. But it is primarily a cloud of warm, dusty, slightly spicy notes, with a hit of foody sweetness and sweet-hay immortelle. As it dries, I get something more papery-woody; also frankincense? Sometimes when I first spray it on, I smell asphalt; sometimes I do not. I find this comforting and dreamy and evocative of the trekking theme. It has about a six-hour wear time and low-medium projection. I usually like more longevity and projection from my perfumes, but this is an appropriately personal perfume.”

”This made me say wow. It smells like tea cakes with lavender sugar and a freshly opened package of instant coffee. The immortelle plays really well the with lavender, lending a honeyed hay note. There is lots of dry spice and really elegant edible notes, like Musc Ravageur's quirky cousin.”

“This stuff is amazing in any season, but i especially love it in spring. It’s quickly becoming my most sprayed fragrance. It’s beautiful but has a grotesque underbelly, it’s uplifting but melancholic. It makes me happy to be alive, happy that such complex things exist in the world. I decided to wear it on my wedding day. Because at its core, any lasting relationship is a long, challenging journey with highs and lows and bumps and bruises along the way, but those things just make reaching the destination that much sweeter.”
—Fragrantica user @Random Spirit Lover

“Magnificent, soapy, herbaceous, cafe-adjacent, newspaper, lavender and immortelle aftershave love. Reminded me of my husband, and now he's going through his sample compulsively.”
