Buen Camino: a perfume about religious trauma, broken feet and blood poisoning—and the pilgrimage that caused some of that pain, yet also healed it all. Marked with the same shade of goldenrod yellow as the signposts that lead pilgrims along the Camino De Santiago de Compostela through Northern Spain. [Iberian lavender, dried immortelle, dust, grime, infections, bandage wraps, sweat, almond cake, spiced oranges, espresso.]

Playalinda: a perfume about memory enameled in calypso orange to approximate the hazy, dreamlike memory of a day in the past spent by the sea with a lover. [Sun-warmed peach, sand on warm skin, dirty hair, seaweed, smoked shells, vetiver, patchouli.]

Spite Eau de Toilette: a perfume about selfishness enameled in light mauve to signify the reserved yet reckless temperament of the work’s namesake impulse. [Bulgarian rose, angelica, Australian sandalwood, orris, violet leaf, leather, scalded sugar.]

Intra Venus: a perfume for Hannah Wilke, marked with robin’s egg enamel in tribute to the artist whose fearless, final cycle of self-portraiture depicts her battle with the lymphoma that prematurely took her life as she presented new horizons for women’s artistic representations of themselves. [Blue hyacinth, poison bulb, cyclamen, hinoki wood, cypress leaf, wasabi, mastic.]

Silueta: a perfume because of Ana Mendieta, dipped in rust-red enamel in tribute to the artist whose impressions of her body into natural settings became a means for her to reconnect with the homeland she lived in exile from. [Olfactory white, hollowness, unlandedness, exile.]

Nanas: a perfume thanks to Alyssa Harad, and in deference to Niki de Saint Phalle’s buoyant sculptures of “the everywoman” she called Nanas, and dipped in white enamel like the interior fruit of a banana, this is Chronotope’s most defiantly joyous perfume. [Banana, yogurt, red and white champaca, cardamom, shiso, amber, ylang ylang.]
